The house unanimously resolved to express gratitude and thanked the Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Mrs. Ambika Soni and her entire team in the Ministry of Tourism, in getting 75% abatement on service tax. The house felt that to protect the interest of small tour operators, our effort to get 90% abatement on service tax must continue. |

Hotel luxury tax need to be rationalized. Luxury tax to be levied on the actual billing amount that has been paid to the hotel and not on printed/published rates. |

Priorities should be given to the creation of land banks by all the states and land be given to IATO and other hoteliers on a concessional rate for building of hotels through Public-Private partnership basis. |

Government should facilitate tour operators for visa from major markets Spain, CIS countries, and China where tour operators are facing difficulty to get Visa in time. House also resolved that E-visa facilities should be introduced. |

E.Commerce business launched through Ministry of Tourism website and given only to M/s. Eviivo be withdrawn. It was further resolved that IATO’s alternative proposal given to the Ministry be accepted by the Government. |

Bring down domestic fares and to make domestic tour packages competitive, sales tax on ATF be rationalized. The varying sales tax from state to state is not in the interest of tourism growth. This was unanimously adopted. |

Spiral rise of the hotel tariff is deterrent for development of leisure tourism. It unanimously adopted that government should intervene and regulate the hotel rates. |

There is acute shortage of trained man-power and government should conduct regular training programme for the different segments of the service providers under its capacity building prorgramme. |

To meet the acute shortage of accommodation in Delhi, Bed and Breakfast scheme needs to be patronized by all once government ordinance is issued with tax reliefs. It should be implemented with sincerity . |

Road tax by the state governments need to be rationalized. Road tax have been reduced by Haryana Govt. Same can be followed by other state too for promoting surface tourism in an integrated manner by two/three sates together on a circuit concept. This can promote hinterland areas. |

Introduction of smart card for tax collection at state borders can save delays and inconvenience to tourists and transparency in tax collection. This needs to be implemented. |

Highways developed in India on international standard, wayside amenities be developed with public private partnership. This will boost surface tourism. |

Whenever Ministry of Tourism conducts road shows, at least 3 months advance notice be given so that IATO members can join in numbers. More India based IATO Members be included than overseas receptive of Indian agents. |

Many overseas offices, heads of the office post has remained vacant. Officers should be posted at the earliest so that these offices become effective for PR and promotional purpose. Post remained vacant in Frankfurt, Tokyo, and London for quite sometime. |

Monuments entry fee being charged by the ASI is very disturbing and need to be rationalized. ASI to have only one entry fee for the foreigners which can be paid either in INR or USD. |

With the opening of the sky the ground usage of land should also be opened. There should be no need to get governments permission to build hotels on any commercial land or farm house subject to the completion of health and safety standards. |
