Sub: Registration of Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India recognized Tour Operators/Travel Agents with the Delhi Government

 

This is further to our circular of 5th October, 2010 informing you that our request for extension of date has not been acceded to and all tour operators/travel agents were advised to apply for registration as per existing provision of rule 81 of Delhi Motor Vehicle Rules 1993.

 

Some of the members may not have received this circular as the transmission was stopped as our Office Bearers had a meeting with Mr. P.K. Tripathi, Principal Secretary Tourism, Govt. of NCR of Delhi today in his office to get clarification on the revised guidelines and the implication of late filing of application.

 

During the discussions we have been given to understand by Mr. Tripathi that

 

There is no closing date for Registration, as the date has been kept open.

 

The Delhi Govt stands by its commitment given earlier on Revising the Norms etc for MOT recognized Tour Operators/Travel Agents.

 

The Revised Guidelines and Forms are in the process of finalization and same will be ready soon as they are awaiting formal approval from the Lt Governor of Delhi.

 

The New Guidelines are likely to be sanctified/approved by the Lt. Governor of Delhi and Tourism Department of Delhi would be able to formally announce the same after 2 weeks or so.

 

Those Tour Operators/Travel Agents who are Duly recognized by Ministry of Tourism to display their Recognition Certificates in their office and in case of any visit enquiry by local police staff, they can show the same to concerned authorities.

 

Those Tour Operators /Travel Agents who are recognized by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India and desire to proceed with their Registration as per existing norms can go ahead or wait for revised forms etc. for 2 weeks or so.

 

However, members who are not approved by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India are advised to proceed with their registration without any delay.

 

Members who are applying as per the existing norms may submit their application with two separate demand drafts of Rs. 10000/- and Rs. 2000/- in favour of PRINCIPAL SECRETARY (TOURISM), GOVT. OF NCT OF DELHI

 

However, members who are applying on the existing application form, as per the advice given by our legal advisor, please mention on each page of the application “WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO OUR RIGHTS AND CONTENTION”.

 

Also in the application from, in the columns which members feel no information can be given or feel information is irrelevant, the same may be indicated as "NOT APPLICABLE".
